The Taggies story
It started with an observation any parent will recognize: hand a baby a toy and half the time they ignore the toy and work the label between two fingers.
Where we come from
Taggies is part of the Mary Meyer family, a toy workshop that has been sewing in Vermont since 1933. Mary Meyer makes plush of every kind; Taggies is the corner of the house devoted to one idea, done thoroughly.
The idea is the tag. Babies explore with their fingertips, and a folded ribbon of satin gives them exactly what those fingertips are looking for: a smooth edge, a bit of slide, something to work at while the rest of them settles.
What we make
Character blankets and loveys, crinkle and activity pieces, rattles and teethers, soft books and clip-on travel pals, and classic stuffed animals. Every one of them carries satin loops somewhere, sewn around edges and into seams.
Many characters come in several forms, so the elephant from the crib blanket can also be the rattle in the diaper bag. Parents tell us that continuity matters more than they expected.
What this site is
A catalogue, kept honest. We photograph the range, sort it into shelves, count the sizes and collect what parents write on the review pages. When you decide to buy, the buttons hand you to our retail partner, who runs the checkout, the warehouse and the delivery.
